I've been meaning to post an update earlier, but I've finally found some time. Here's what's new with WebODM Lightning:
Cloud Platform Speed and Reliability Improvements
The cloud platform is now operating significantly faster thanks to some important infrastructure upgrades. File uploads are also more reliable. You should be able to appreciate these improvements especially as you open the Map and 3D views, as maps and models should feel significantly snappier.
Desktop Client Update
The WebODM Lightning Desktop client is getting replaced (upgraded) with WebODM, which is a software I've also been maintaing for a while. It no longer makes sense to keep two separate versions, so I'm simplifying things by continuing work on WebODM for those that want a Desktop workflow.
I should mention that you do not have to stop using the existing Lightning Desktop client. It will continue to work, but no new updates will be delivered when pressing the "Check for Updates" button.
To migrate your existing Lightning Desktop client to WebODM without losing your existing projects and tasks, copy and rename the "WebODM Lightning" folder (e.g. C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local\Programs\WebODM Lightning) to C:\WebODM and run the WebODM setup (making sure to select the correct drive during installation).
That's it for this short update. Enjoy!
